Summary

POST IT LOCAL is a classifieds platform serving New England. When you post or report content, we collect the information needed to publish listings, connect buyers and sellers, keep the platform safe, and run Sponsored ads.

What we collect

• Listing data: category, area/state, title, description, price, location, photos.
• Contact info (optional, but typically provided): name, email, phone.
• Reports: reason and details for listing/ad reports, and optional reporter email for follow-up communication.
• Ad interactions: impression/click events (creative id + slot + timestamp).
• Blocked sellers (mobile app only): contact information (email/phone) of sellers you block is stored locally on your device to hide their listings.

We do not require an account to browse or post. If we add accounts in the future, this policy will be updated.

How we collect it

• You provide listing/report details directly in the app.
• When a Sponsored ad is shown or clicked, we record that event.
• When you block a seller (mobile app), their contact info is saved locally on your device only.
• When you report a listing or ad, you may optionally provide your email for follow-up communication.

How we use it

• To publish listings and show them to other users.
• To display your contact info on the listing so buyers can reach you.
• To review reports and enforce our rules.
• To measure Sponsored ad performance (impressions/clicks) and improve ad placement within this app only.
• To contact you about reports you submit (if you provided your email).
• Blocked seller data (mobile app) stays on your device and is used only to filter listings you see.

What is public

Listings are public. If you provide contact information, that contact information is also shown publicly on your listing. Reports are not public. Blocked seller information (mobile app) is private and stored only on your device.

Sharing and third parties

• Image hosting: photos are stored with our hosting provider, which provides the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this policy.
• Payments: if you buy ads, payments are processed by Stripe, which is committed to providing the same or equal protection of user data as outlined in this policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share ad interaction data with third-party ad networks or analytics services. All ad tracking is contextual within this app only.

Retention and deletion

• Listings are stored until removed by you or by moderation.
• Reports may be kept for safety, abuse prevention, and auditing.
• Blocked seller data (mobile app) is stored locally on your device and can be cleared in Settings > Support > Blocked Sellers.
• To request deletion, email support@postitlocal.com with enough details to find the listing.

Tracking (ATT)

We do not use your device advertising identifier (IDFA) for tracking across other companies' apps or websites. Our ad impression and click tracking is strictly contextual within this app and cannot be used to track you across other apps or websites. We do not link ad interaction data with any persistent identifier for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.

If we ever add cross-app tracking, we will request permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.
